Assistant Finance Manager (Full-time, Exempt, Monday-Friday 8am – 4pm)

Pay Range: $75,000 - $78,000 annually

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Finance Manager to join our finance team. This role is crucial for maintaining our financial health and ensuring that our services continue to be delivered with the highest level of efficiency and compliance. The successful candidate will oversee a team consisting of two Finance Assistants, a Staff Accountant, and a Billing & Accounts Receivable Specialist.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support the daily operations of the finance team including the Staff Accountant, two Finance Assistants, and the Billing & A/R Specialist.
  • Oversee the representative payee program, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Manage accounting and financial reporting activities to ensure accuracy and timely completion.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Uniform Financial Report to comply with regulatory standards.
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Oversee and approve all state contract billing, ensuring adherence to stipulated financial guidelines and deadlines.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debts.
  • Develop and implement robust financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency and internal controls.
  • Liaise with senior management to prepare financial analyses and reports.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred
  • At least 3-5 years of financial management experience, with a proven track record in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with Organizational Representative Payee responsibilities and other Social Security Administration regulations
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, finance regulations, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with government or state contract billing highly desirable.
  • Proficient in financial software and MS Office; advanced Excel skills required.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
