Shared Living Provider (Berkshires, MA)
Shared Living Provider Job Summary
Open Your Heart, Open Your Home / Caregiving with Love
Nonotuck Resource Associates (www.nonotuck.com) is a community-based agency that has provided residential services since 1972 to people with intellectual disabilities. Believing in the transformative power of caring for a person in a home setting, we support individuals by matching them with caring providers who open their hearts and homes as Shared Living Providers (SLPs). SLPs provide a flexible and supportive environment where the individual they are supporting will feel safe and secure.
We are currently seeking a kind-hearted male caregiver in Berkshire County to share his home with a friendly man in his mid-30s. He enjoys music, cheering on New England sports teams, hiking, bowling, going to the movies, spending time with animals, and reading adventure books. He is social, loves being surrounded by a supportive community, and has an important goal of maintaining meaningful employment.
This individual would do best in a quiet, structured household and would especially thrive in a “roommate-style” living arrangement where mutual respect and companionship are central. While experience in the mental health field is a plus, it’s not required—we welcome applicants who are compassionate, dependable, and willing to learn.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Planning and sharing meals together each day
- Attending appointments and participating in community/social activities
- Providing assistance, supervision, and teaching in areas such as bathing, dressing, personal hygiene, and budgeting
- Offering emotional and behavioral supports as needed
The following resources will be available:
- Generous stipend
- 24-hour emergency on-call assistance
- Monthly in-home visits from a Care Manager
- Access to clinicians for additional support
- Training on home safety skills, medication management, and First Aid/CPR
